April 17, 2021 - Atlanta native, elder and beekeeper J.R. Murphy gives a tour of his home garden, his work garden and beekeeping areas. He commands a stern yet enjoyable 101 of beekeeping and urban farming, drilling us on what we know. In the end, he proves we have a lot to learn.

• Smokers should never touch or be around tomato plants, nightshades, mints and a host of other plants. Tobacco can give tomatoes the disease Tobacco Mosaic Virus (ToMV)

• Raised beds are a beneficial and ancestral way to garden crops

• Roosters don’t only crow at sunrise, but at sunset, too

• Succession planting is key

• We should be able to identify plants in all of their growing stages, not just when they mature
